The following dogs are but a few Labradors that were legends both during their lives and after they were gone. I hope to supplement this page from time to time.
These particular dogs are among my favorites in breed history. They may not be everyone's favorites. However, I believe their breed type and (in some cases) ability as retreivers were commendable. Other than Trump, the dogs found herein descend largely from the early Long Island imports that provided the foundation stock for both American field and bench lines.
All of these dogs were either dual purpose in origin or went on to produce dual purpose dogs among their descendants.
